Buena Vista Trims China Maple Leaf

Buena Vista Fund Management LLC (Buena Vista) recently reduced their stake in HK-listed China Maple Leaf Education Systems Ltd. (China Maple Leaf). According to a filing made to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on October 10th, 2017, the firm sold 4,928,000 shares on the exchange at an average price of HKD 9.35 per share on October 6th (total consideration was ~US$5.9m). Following the sale, Buena Vista’s stake in China Maple Leaf decreased from 6.00% to 5.64%.

China Maple Leaf is one of the leading international school (K-12) operators in China. The group opened itsĀ first school in Dalian, China in 1995 with 14 students. They currently operate 74 schools across 18 cities in China, with approximately 30,000 students enrolled. The company was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in November 2014.
