Sean Hinton, the CEO of the Soros Economic Development Fund, was a speaker at the Stanford Graduate School of Business last month. He shared some of the lessons learnt over the course of his career and also discussed impact investing as well as other innovative approaches to the challenges of economic inequality.
He has a very interesting, non-linear life story: he studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, began his career as a consultant for McKinsey & Co. and has over 25 year of advisory and investment experience in Mongolia and China. He joined the Open Society Foundations in 2015 as director of the Economic Advancement Program and CEO of the Soros Economic Development Fund.
