The Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Hong Kong recently hosted a conversation with Allan Zeman on the political, economic and commercial future of the city. He discussed the prospects for the new administration, shared his advice for Hong Kong’s youth and reflected on the 20th anniversary of the handover. He also answered questions from the audience in attendance.
Zeman is the chairman of the Lan Kwai Fong Group, a property owner and developer in Hong Kong. In recent years, the group has also expanded into a number of Chinese cities. He also serves an independent, non-executive director of a number of HK-listed companies. Zeman has lived in Hong Kong for over 45 years and is a Chinese citizen.
