Readings For The Week (25/4)

This week’s readings/links include Fred Hickey on why this is the perfect environment for gold, a wide-ranging conversation with Malcolm Turnbull, an interview with Grant Williams, Izabella Kaminska on the mystery (revived) of the United States Oil Fund and Greg Miller with an update on the tanker market.

  • Fred Hickey: This is the perfect environment for gold.
  • Malcolm Turnbull: The life and times of a thoroughly liberal Prime Minister.
  • Interview with Grant Williams: Discusses the current economic conditions, the misconception that our economy was strong prior to the coronavirus and that this is just a temporary disruption.
  • Izabella Kaminska: The United States Oil Fund mystery, revived.
  • Greg Miller: Iran threat looms as tanker market booms.

On a slightly different note, I found this recent CNA documentary on the resurgence of piracy in Southeast Asia very interesting. It contains some dramatic music and low-budget reenactments, but sheds light on an important (and timely) issue in the maritime industry.
